AI25's hybrid production combines AI video, live action, 3D, VFX and post-production. Model selection starts with the shot's purpose and the details that must stay exact. Our recommended approach is to approve the references, test the demanding action, then choose the method that can meet the brief. A generated environment can sit around a filmed performer or a CGI product; the film does not need one model throughout.

Our recommended approach is to approve the references, test the demanding action, then choose the method that can meet the brief. A generated environment can sit around a filmed performer or a CGI product; the film does not need one model throughout.
Start with the part of the image that cannot drift
A hybrid production plan can bring several disciplines together. We recommend starting by agreeing the scope, references and approval points. The shot-selection framework below develops that principle into a practical brief. It does not report results from an unpublished client project or claim a fixed list of models used on every job.
A bottle’s shape, a printed claim, an actor’s performance and a background texture have different acceptance criteria. Mark which elements must match a supplied asset and which can be explored. That decision gives the production team a useful test instead of an instruction to find the best AI.
Compare production methods before comparing models
These are recommended starting points, not measured claims about a particular model’s success rate.
Shot requirement | Method worth assessing | Material to approve | Acceptance question |
Exact packshot and readable label | Product photography or CGI, with compositing | Product asset and artwork | Does the final frame match the approved product? |
Directed human performance | Live action, with generated or 3D surroundings if useful | Performance and shot design | Is the intended action clear and consistent? |
An invented setting or transition | Generative video, CGI or a combination | Style frame and movement reference | Does it support the cut without changing required details? |
A recurring character | Reference-led generation or controlled live-action/3D assets | Appearance sheet and representative motion | Is the person recognisable throughout the sequence? |
New formats and languages | Editing, compositing and post-production | Version list and approved copy | Is every version readable, correctly framed and complete? |
Let the difficult movement decide the test
A still image cannot show whether a hand holds the product correctly through a turn. Select a representative action before producing the entire sequence. Define what the reviewer should inspect and what would trigger a change of method.
Reference tools are one option. Runway documents reference inputs for still-image generation that guide subjects and visual styles. 1 A reference still can help define the visual direction; it does not establish how a separately generated moving shot will behave. Record the version and inputs so feedback refers to a reproducible candidate.
If the result fails, identify the cause. A camera move may need simplifying, an object may need a controlled asset, or the edit may need another shot. Repeating generation without a new hypothesis gives the client little basis for a decision.
Finish the film as one piece of work
Different methods can produce different colour, sharpness, movement and sound. Review their relationship in the edit, then specify the finishing work needed. Judge the actual masters and each contracted version, including titles, subtitles, product details and audio.
The handover should identify approved files and the source material or production records included in the agreement. A model name is useful production information; it is not the client’s acceptance test.

Quick answers
Process, timelines, pricing & deliverables.
Does AI25 use one model for an entire film?
The approach described here makes the decision at shot level. A brief may suit one model, several models, or a combination of generated and controlled source material. Agree the proposed method for the actual project.
What happens when an AI shot cannot meet the brief?
Review the shot design and assess another method, such as filming, CGI or compositing. The next step should respond to an identified issue rather than promise that more attempts will solve it.
What should a client supply before a model test?
Provide the intended message, product assets, approved artwork, visual references, required formats and any detail that must remain exact. Identify the person who can approve the result.
Is this pipeline a guarantee of a perfect output?
No. It is a framework for choosing and reviewing production methods. The scope, reference tests, revision process and delivery requirements still need agreement for each film.
